My wife and I had much the same experience as we visited the Kirtland Temple this summer. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the events surrounding the restoration of the gospel and the building and dedication of the temple. He talked about the first vision and the miraculous events surrounding the dedication of the temple with a feeling of acceptance and testimony. We felt the Spirit of his declarations and were grateful for the new perspectives and insights we gleaned from this experience. I feel that as a people we have much common ground and hope that someday we can come to a "unity of the faith."
